UNMC Alumni Reunion Weekend 2025

Schedule of Events

Campus Tour Breakouts

These tours involve varied amounts of walking and limited opportunities to sit down, which may be difficult for those who have limited mobility. Each tour will take the full 90 minutes.

Tour Options:

Option 1: iExcel in the Dr. Edwin G. & Dorothy Balbach Davis Global Center and the Wigton Heritage Center.

iExcel showcases high-fidelity simulation and experiential learning technologies and the Wigton Heritage Center features UNMC history exhibits.

Option 2: The Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center and the Chihuly Sanctuary

The Chihuly Sanctuary features 10 site-specific art installations and offers a place of respite and reflection for patients receiving treatment at the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center.

Option 3: Campus Walking Tour

The walking tour will see various campus locations such as the renovated McGoogan Health Sciences Library, campus artwork, the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit, and more.

 

Welcome Back Lunch

The lunch program will include:

  • Remarks from UNMC Interim Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD
  • A feature presentation from UNMC Campus Facilities on Project Health, a $2.19 billion health care facility at UNMC and Nebraska Medicine. This state-of-the-art clinical learning center will serve as a hub for educating and training future health care providers, advancing medical research, and conducting clinical trials.

50-year Oral History Video Taping for the Nursing Class of 1975

Sit down for a video recording to share memories from your time in nursing school.

 

Tour of the College of Medicine

Alumni and guests will be split into small groups. Medical students will answer questions and discuss their educational experience at UNMC while providing a tour of the College of Medicine building.

 

Tour of the College of Pharmacy

Pharmacy students will answer questions and share about their educational experience at UNMC while providing a tour of the new College of Pharmacy building, which opened in 2016.

 

Tour of the College of Nursing Simulated Hospital

This facility includes med-surg rooms, labor and delivery, and pediatric rooms. This is where students train on manikins (patient simulators) to prepare for patient care.

 

Dean's Reception with Brad Britigan, MD

This session will include a state-of-the-college update and recognize the 2025 award recipients and the class of 1975 on their 50th reunion. Following this, the Dean will host a reception and light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided.

 

Dean's Reception with Don Klepser, PhD

This session will include a state-of-the-college update and recognize the class of 1975 on their 50th reunion. Following this, the Interim Dean will host a reception in the atrium, where light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided.

 

Dean's Reception with Lepaine Sharp-McHenry, DNP

This session will include a state-of-the-college update and recognize the 2025 award recipients and the class of 1975 on their 50th reunion. Following this, the Dean will host a reception in the commons area, where light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided.

$50/person for heavy appetizers and beverages.

 

College of Medicine - 2000 Class Party (Friday)

$25/person for heavy appetizers. Cash bar available.

 

College of Nursing - 1975 ADN Class Party

There will be a social hour starting at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Order off the menu; pay on your own that day.

 

College of Pharmacy - 1980 Class Party

The event will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. Order off the limited menu; pay on your own that night.

 

College of Nursing - 1975 BSN Class Party

A dinner reservation will be made and the location will be shared with registrants. Order off the menu; pay on your own that day.

 

College of Nursing - 1995 Class Party

Order off the menu; pay on your own that day. Reservation will be under Maria Johnson.

 

College of Pharmacy - 1975 Class Party

Order off the limited menu; pay on your own that night.

Join classmates to watch the Husker football game against Houston Christian. Kickoff is at 11 a.m. Pay on your own for food and drinks that day.

 

College of Nursing - 1970 Class Party

Order off the menu; pay on your own that day.

 

College of Medicine - 2015 Class Party (Saturday Daytime)

$19/person covers picnic pad reservation with campfire, hot dog and s’mores catering, and one NA beverage. Per person admission to Vala’s must be purchased separately.

 

College of Pharmacy - 2020 Class Party

Food and bowling at the class party will be sponsored by the College of Pharmacy. Children are welcome to attend.
